Job Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to accurately estimate costs for Structural Steel construction projects. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our projects by providing accurate cost estimates. If you have a passion for construction, excellent mathematical skills, and a keen eye for detail then maybe this is the Role for you!

Duties:
 Prepare cost estimates for projects consisting of the design, manufacture and erection of structural steel frames, including materials, labour, and equipment

Analyse project specifications and drawings to determine project requirements

Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates

Research and obtain pricing information from suppliers and subcontractors

Calculate labour and material costs based on project scope and specifications

Material Take-Offs and Tender Summaries: Conducting material take-offs and creating tender summaries for projects.

Quotation Preparation: Meeting deadlines by efficiently preparing detailed and comprehensive quotations.

 Create detailed cost breakdowns and reports for management review

Review and analyse historical data to improve accuracy of future estimates

Client Meetings and Site Visits: The Estimator will attend client meetings and occasionally visit project sites as required.

Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and make adjustments as necessary

 

The successful candidate will have the following:

Strong mathematical and analytical skills

Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and construction documents

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Knowledge of Structural Steel materials, methods, and equipment

 Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

 Proficient in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite

Proven experience as an estimator in the structural steel industry

 Familiarity with cost control techniques

Ability to multitask and prioritize workload effectively

Excellent Communication: The ideal candidate should possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills.

Customer Service: They must demonstrate an excellent telephone manner and communicate professionally with customers
