Job Description
A position as become available for a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Our client is an innovative organisation in a specialist defence related industry, they are looking for a flexible and adaptable Design Engineer to join their team. The candidate must be a UK national and will need to pass security vetting upon employment
Do you have the following skills or Qualifications:
Qualified to ONC/HNC (Minimum Level 4)
Supporting EITB Approved Apprenticeship.
Good Understanding of Mechanical Engineering Principles.
Analytical and Methodical Approach.
Design and Manufacturing Disciplines are essential for this role Possess a good level of computer literacy, be proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Word.
Knowledge of Solid works Solid Modelling would be an advantage.
The desired person would also be flexible, adaptable to a range of working methods and processes, be well organised, able to communicate technical and practical concepts and be a team player with the ability to work and communicate confidently and effectively with Senior Management.
Design Requirements:
Lead and Co-ordinate internal/external design staff.
Managing Staff.
Maintain and develop company works engineering and design.
Thoroughly research new materials and processes.
Utilise specific software to create models of the product.
Organisation Skills.
Oversee, effective testing of prototypes and record/analyse data.
Oversee design engineers.
Project Requirements :
Preparation,Scheduling,co-ordinating and monitoring
Budgeting
Resolving problems.
Manufacturing Requirements:
Interfacing with customers
Overseeing the process of designing and developing all prototype products
Compile, monitor and update project engineering and procurement project files
Experience:
Preferably 5+ years in a Mechanical Design/Project/Manufacturing Environment.
Provide technical support during the procurement, build and test phases of specific projects.
Generate project procurement lists, raise project RFQ’s and purchase orders.
Monitor and actively progress the project procurement process.
Be responsible for receiving project deliveries, goods inwards approval and assignment to the relevant project.
Undertake associated project duties as requested by Senior Management.
