Job Description
My client are the UK leaders on providing both vacuum furnace and atmospheric furnace servicing and maintenance. Working with their customers, they tailor service and maintenance visits to suit the needs of the furnace and production, ensuring maximum production and the highest quality products. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support, maintenance, and repair services for our products in the field. The Field Service Engineer will play a crucial role in ensuring the satisfaction of their customers and maintaining the reliability of their equipment.
Where will you be working?
This is a field-based role and you would be part of a Service Team covering UK, however you will be required to travel to client sites throughout the UK and occasionally worldwide depending on your work schedule. This role requires you to work occasional overtime at weekends and during public holidays.
What will you be doing?
As a Service Engineer you will be required to give your clients the best-in-class quality service. You will provide on-site corrective/preventative maintenance and offer after-sales technical and commercial support. You will be required to have all round engineering knowledge of High-Tech equipment with Experience with Plc Systems, Software (Siemens, WINCC, InTouch, Wonderware), Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair company products and equipment.
- Diagnose technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and provide effective solutions in a timely manner.
- Conduct regular preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend product
- Collaborate with the technical support team to analyse complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Train customers on the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our products.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain accurate and detailed service records, including documentation of work performed, parts used, and other relevant information.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to provide feedback on product performance, reliability, and potential design improvements.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of service processes and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
- Travel to customer sites to install, maintain, and repair company products and equipment.
- Timely reporting to Service Manager on progress or delays.
- Timely completion and submission of risk assessments work reports, activity reports and all other documentation.
- Timely completion of site tasks and activities as required.
About you:
- Previous experience within a similar role is desirable
- Ability to travel both UK and International (2-3 times a year internationally)
- NVQ Level 3 Qualifications within Engineering or Equivalent
- Mechanical mindset & Electrical competence
- Full UK Driving license

- Basic salary of £33-36k
