Job Description
Fabricator
Workforce are working with a leading manufacturer of precision tooling and specialist machinery based in Coventry who are seeking a skilled Fabricator to join their team. Our client has established a reputation for high-quality production.
As a Fabricator, you will play a critical role in the fabrication process, ensuring the production of structurally sound and visually appealing components. From reading blueprints to welding and assembling metal parts, your skills and attention to detail will contribute to the successful completion of projects.
Salary: £15-£16 per hour DOE
Contracted hours: 07:30am – 16:30pm Monday – Thursday and 7:30 – 12:30 Friday
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Job Duties:
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine welding and fabrication requirements.
- Perform welding operations, including MIG, stainless welding, to join metal parts accurately and securely.
- Select and set up appropriate welding equipment, tools, and materials for each project.
- Conduct visual inspections to identify welding defects or quality issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Fabricate metal components by cutting, bending, and shaping materials using various fabrication techniques and machinery.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and best practices.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and communicate progress, challenges, and recommendations in a timely manner.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in various welding techniques, including MIG and stainless.
- Strong understanding of metal fabrication techniques, including cutting, bending, and shaping.
- Full UK driving license.
- Ability to work on own accord.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Skilled in operating fabrication machinery, such as shears, brakes and saws.
- Familiarity with different types of metals, alloys and their respective welding characteristics.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality welds and fabrications.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve fabrication issues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good communication and collaboration skills.
