Salary: £23,500 – £40,000 depending on experience

Our client was established in 1946 and has grown to be a leader in the precision machining of hard and ultra-hard materials. They specialise in low volume quantities and work across many industries, such as semiconductor, oil & gas, space & aerospace, electronics, defence and many others.

Our client requires a full-time machine operator to join their busy and very specialised precision machining company. Experience of surface or cylindrical grinding would be ideal. You will be making expensive and fragile components, so they are looking for staff that take pride of their work and have a real interest in engineering and manufacturing.

Job Requirements

⦁ The ideal candidate will have experience of using grinding machines, either cylindrical or surface, previously.
⦁ An ability to read and understand engineering drawings is essential
⦁ Ideally to have an engineering qualification or alternatively relevant industry experience.
⦁ Knowledge of metrology such as the use of verniers, micrometres, callipers etc is necessary.
⦁ As a busy precision engineering company, the candidate must be able to work under pressure and prioritise tasks.
⦁ Toolmaking experience would be desirable.
