Job Title: CNC Sliding Head Machinist

Location: Bolton

Hours: 7:30am – 4pm Monday to Thursday 7:30am – 1pm Friday

Pay Rate: £33,000.00-£40,000.00 per year

Overtime available: Opportunity to work 46-hour day shift Monday – Thursday 6.00-18.00

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Sliding Head Machinist for our client in Bolton. Established for almost 50 years. What’s the job?
⦁ The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC multi axis sliding head autos (Star and Citizen)
⦁ Working within a predominantly medium batch machining cell this role is to programme, set and operate CNC multi axis sliding head autos.
⦁ There may be a requirement to program/set and run multiple machines at any one time
⦁ Due to the type of work, you will have excellent tooling knowledge and the ability to ensure cutting strategy suits production.

Who can do this?
⦁ The successful candidate will ideally have had a proven background in CNC machining, preferably having served a recognised apprenticeship or equivalent qualification with post qualification experience in a technical machining background
⦁ Ability to programme using Fanuc / Siemens
⦁ Experience of multi axis turning centres
⦁ Highest standards of H&S and Quality is essential
⦁ Ability to interpret detailed engineering drawings and deliver conforming parts
⦁ Working with various materials including exotic grade alloys
⦁ A detailed understanding of engineering drawing, tooling selection, work holding & cutting strategy is essential
⦁ A good communicator at all levels, with the ability to integrate and support a successful team.
