Salary: £13-£14.50 DOE
Hours of works:
4 Week Rotation of days & nights ( may change)
Days:
Monday – Thursday : 06:30 – 14:45 with 30 min paid break
Friday : 06:30 – 12:30 with 15 min paid break
Nights:
Monday to Wednesday : 19:30 – 06:00 with a 25 min paid break
Thursday : 19:30 – 05:00 with a 25 min paid break and 30 min unpaid break
Over time rates:
Monday – Friday : Time and a quarter
Saturday : Time and a half
Sunday : Double Time
Job Description
- To set and operate machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner, especially but not limited to Haas, Puma, Biglia, Dainichi
- Appreciation of machining process and best practice
- To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings,
- Ensure all parts are produced to schedule requirements and quality standards.
- Work in adherence to the departmental procedures to achieve best in class service and maintain company quality procedures;
Job Responsibilities
- To set, and operate, production machines, equipment and auxiliary equipment (where trained) ensuring setting and run targets are achieved, This will include the ability to modify programmes accordingly specifically prove out new (sample) programmes;
- To set and operate machines and processes in a safe and efficient manner, especially but not limited to Mazak, Haas, Mitsubishi machines
- To produce parts in accordance with route cards and technical drawings,
- To carry out off-set changes, tooling and cutting tip changes as required;
- To confidently strip and reset Tools and fixtures
- To ensure quality requirements and checks including satisfactory 1st-off, using appropriate measuring equipment are carried out as required;
- To ensure all required paperwork/labels are correctly completed and filed as necessary;
- To ensure manufacturing shop floor data collection system is updated accurately when required;
- To ensure housekeeping is to highest standard;
- To carry out Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) activities;
- To support route cause analysis on external quality or internal manufacturing issues
- To highlight any continuous improvement activities/opportunities;
- To act in a safe manner and highlight any health and safety risks;
- To work as part of team- Supporting SMED, Continual Improvement and 6S activities amongst others;
- To train other operators if and when required;
- To ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the company’s quality requirements;
- To liaise with other Departments;
- Any other Ad-hoc duties as required;
Essential Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications
- Previous experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of technical drawings.
- Previous CNC Turning setting and operating experience
- Previous CNC Milling setting and operating experience
- Previous experience operating Multi Axis Milling machines
- Experience using measuring equipment
