Today is A Level results day! Often a day of mixed emotions
– some young people are off to live th
eir dreams, whereas others may not have got the results that they were looking for.  We’re on hand to go through a couple of options and this post might be useful for you if you’ve just got your A Level results or if you’re the parent of a young person who has just had their results!  Luckily, no matter what happens on A Level results day, the opportunity to have a great career is still there – and these options will help you think about what the next move is for you!

Off to University

For many, university is a great way to find the perfect career. If you’re off to university in the autumn, then best of luck to you. But if you’re coming home for the holidays, why not pop in to your local Workforce branch to register as we may have some temporary work to help top up your funds for books. Yes books. Not beer.

If you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, then there is still the opportunity to get a place through clearing. Here’s the link if you want to know more about it.

Travel the world

This is a great option for students post-A Levels. You will learn loads of new skills that you can take in to new roles when you get back and it might help you to figure out what it is that you want to do for a career if you aren’t sure. We’ve got loads of temporary positions available at Workforce if you’d like to build up some cash to fund your travels.  Come and see one of our consultants and we can sort something out for you.

Earn as you learn

There are various apprenticeship schemes out there which are a great alternative to university if you want to gain valuable on the job training. A number of the roles that we have on offer come with accredited training programmes. You can find out more about how you can earn and learn on our website. (NB: Paul is this the correct link or should it be to one of the other sites? This is a bit too client focused I think).

Full time employment

The team at Workforce have loads of experience at placing students in to their first job.  We’ve got a range of roles including manufacturing and engineering, logistics, food manufacturing and office and professional roles. We can help you with your CV and cover letter – simply arrange a visit to one of our branches across the West Midlands and we can see what we’ve got available for you.  And because we have such a wide network of branches, you’ll have access to the best jobs across the region without having to register with several agencies.

Let us know how you got on after A Level results day! And tell us what your plans are. We’ve got loads of opportunities for students no matter what your plans are, so pop by to see us in one of our branches and let’s get you on the next step for your career!
