Success for Workforce’s Big Brum Treasure Hunt
Workforce is a great place to work and a serious amount of time is spent internally on team building and networking across the business – ensuring people get to know each other and learn one another’s strengths and personalities.
Our latest get together saw groups of colleagues from across the company landing on the sunny summer streets of Birmingham to take part in a special Hidden Quest Treasure Hunt.
Probably one of the best team building events we’ve held in recent years, the event brought out everyone’s fun and competitive streaks amongst the nooks and crannies of the second city.
In a nutshell, teams were set a series of weird and wonderful challenges which they had to complete with the aid of an iPad across locations in the city. Just some examples include proof of blagging free beer, performing a team Mexican wave, and bizarrely, taking a team photo on a bed. It was all captured by the team iPad with all successful challenges feeding into a points system – simple but brilliant!
CEO Paul Alekna, one of our more competitive group leaders, said: “We regularly do team events and fun things together and this was up there as one of the best. It was something really different and allowed more shy members of the team to show a different side, such as leadership skills.
“We have had a busy year so we thought it was important to step out of the comfort zone and do something innovative and interactive.
“Events like this allow us to let our hair down, forget work back at the office and take some time out. It was a great success and has set the benchmark for future events.”
