Golfers tee up to raise money for the Primrose Hospice during Workforce Recruitment’s golf event
KIND-HEARTED golfers are getting into the swing of things for charity as they tee up for its annual golf day, raising money for the Primrose Hospice this year.
Redditch recruitment firm Workforce Recruitment, on Church Green West, is holding its event at Blackwell Golf Club to raise money for the hospice, based in Bromsgrove.
The firm has chosen the hospice as its charity for 2017 and hopes to raise thousands of pounds with its corporate golf event on Wednesday, September 6.
Managing director Joe Alekna said: “Our golf day is always a popular event which brings people and businesses together from Redditch and beyond.
“This year we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for Primrose Hospice and we have already seen a fantastic response.
“There are a limited number of team places left for the event so I’d urge people to contact us to get involvedif they would like to be part of a fantastic day of golf and fundraising.”
The day will start at 11am with breakfast and will end with a two-course evening meal.
The cost for a team of four is £400 with golfers receiving a variety of prizes including for the longest drive and a special closest to the pin contest.
Readers interested in taking part in the golf challenge can email Samantha Clarkson at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 01527 509000.
Through a variety of fundraising events, which includes charity walks and cycle rides, Workforce has already raised more than £5,000 so far.
Primrose Hospice needs £1.75 million every year to keep running all its services, but gets less than a fifth of its funding from the NHS. The charity relies heavily on voluntary donations.
